"H-O" Scale CATENARY

 

NEW HAVEN RR CATENARY..... SEE PICTURE

In 1906 the New York, New Haven, and Hartford Railroad began an ambitious project to electrify a 33 mile section of 4 track main line between Woodlawn (Bronx N.Y.) and Stamford CT. By 1914 not only was the Stamford section complete, but the entire line to New Haven CT. had been electrified. Model Memories is proud to announce the reproduction of this feat of engineering in etched brass........

Our catenary system offers everything you need to build a New Haven style overhead wire system including catenary bridges, pre-formed overhead wire, insulators, and instructions. Designed to accurately reproduce the prototype, our system is not designed to actually distribute power to the train, although the ambitious modeler can power the wire.

To install 20" of catenary on your layout, you should order: 1 catenary bridge (2 are needed for the first section), 1 overhead wire hanger kit, 1 pk pre-formed wire.

 

NEW HAVEN RR - CATENARY BRIDGE AND WIRE

Catenary bridges are available in kit form or fully assembled. Kits include parts for two legs (choose straight or tapered), bridge span (front, back, top, bottom), corner braces, insulators, brackets, and instructions. Assembly requires soldering ability.

PRE-FORMED WIRE SECTIONS

All wire sections are pre-formed of .025" phosphor bronze wire in 20" lengths. Instructions are included for installation.


NH Catenary wire

Type 1 and Type 3 are for straight and curved track.
Type 2 is a transition section from Type 1 to Type 3 wire.

Sorry, no triangular wire yet.

OVERHEAD WIRE HANGER KIT

Overhead wires need to be supported and stabilized about every 10". Our kit holds the wire at the proper height above the track and stabilizes side to side movement. Model Memories wire support hangers duplicate the New Haven down to the insulators. Packaged 2 per kit.

Kit includes 2 hanger bars, support wire, 8 insulators, and instructions. Each kit is suitable for 2, 3, or 4 track applications.

PULL-OFF TOWER

Our New Haven tower is a straight leg style and is used to pull overhead wire to conform to curved trackage. Kit or assembled tower includes: tower, concrete base, cable brackets, wire (to simulate cables), and instructions.

CATENARY POLES

These are "I" beam style that are used on many railroads. Made of milled brass for easy soldering, and come with insulators, concrete base, and instructions .
