In the 1920's the New York Central System began using these unique signals south of Albany on its 4 track main lines. Model Memories has faithfully reproduced this unique signal bridge in H-O scale from etched brass and plastic..ETCHED BRASS detailed "see thru" walkways and steel lattice construction. .ACCURATE DETAILS: Signal number boards with etched numbers as well as maintenance platforms and ladders.

Lighting your signal - see below

This signal was used by many railroads to provide both single and double track control.. The SP, AT&SF, UP, GM&O, B&O and others
incorporated this signal in their operations. Model Memories offers this museum quality signal in fine-scale etched brass** fully painted
with and without LED lighting. Included with each signal is an assembled and painted electrical cabinet.

These signals were used throughout the NYC. The models represent typical styles and configurations. These signals feature etched brass construction and follow prototype design and signal configurations. If you have a special signal configuration send us an email or call. We can professionally install LED lighting in your signal. All wiring is concealed within the structure and painted the color of the structure where the wire is exposed.
We common-wire LEDs using the brass structure to reduce wiring. Bi-color LEDs are common cathode and are compatible with all electronic control manufacturers. Our LEDs work on AC or DC from 5 to 20 volts. Resistors are provided.

Do-it-yourself.
For the ultimate look, use our Light Emitting Diodes in place of bulbs. They must be used if you plan to light your signal. Bulbs generate too much heat and will distort the plastic targets. Our LEDs include proper resistors for 12V to 20V operation.

A complete 3rd rail system for your New York Central model railroad. Our kit includes hangers, simulated 3rd rails, wooden cover, and instructions. These kits include sufficient material for up to 12" of 3rd rail, and the hangers are made of tough Delrin plastic.

NYC Electrified Zone Power Poles

These unique poles were used on the New York Central Hudson and Harlem Divisions extensively to carry power, telephone, and signal cables. They distributed high voltage DC current for electric locomotive operation from Grand Central Terminal and the West Side Line to Harmon, and White Plains, New York.

Model Memories faithfully reproduces these poles for your electrified layout or diorama.

Poles consist of etched brass frame, crossarms, and raincaps. Insulators and "concrete" base provided. Assembled poles are painted Weathered Silver. Four (4) heights are available: 31', 34', 37', and 40'. The kit can be built in any of these heights. Assembled poles must be ordered at the required height.

Telltales - a modern safety device for all railroads

Telltales hung in front of overhead obstructions to warn brakemen, riding on top of moving cars, of an upcoming overpass, bridge, or tunnel entrance. Most railroads had these and made good use of them.

Model Memories faithfully reproduces telltales in 3 different models:

Single Track, 2 Track, and 4 Track

Decals for NYC and NH Railroads

Decals for the NYC and NH Heavy Electric locos have not been available for many years. Modelers who had brass models of these locomotives were out of luck when looking for decals. Model Memories is offering a series of decals for these models starting with the NYC P-2b locomotive in the Lightning Stripe scheme. Following-on will be decals for early versions of the NYC R, S, and T class electric motors as well as the NH EP-5 in McGinnis colors.

One of the more difficult tasks in creating decals is matching prototype paint. Rather than attempt to do this we decided to provide just the striping, but to also provide a painting template to make it easy for the modeler to mask the Light and Dark Gray used by the NYC. Below is a representation of the decal set. The masking template is a heavy paper graphic of the striping to be cut-out and used to cut the masking tape. It is a different concept, but it works well - check out the photo. Model Memories is also offering a painting service in the event painting is not your strong suit. We recommend Scalecoat paint. It is a great match for the NYC colors.
